Vintage Swimsuit

Summer is coming up and I need a swimsuit. I have decided to sew one from two different patterns I got, one for the top, and one for the bottom. The style is going to relatively look like this:
You get the idea, it's your basic two piece swimsuit, high waisted and halter top, and  it will be navy. I am super excited about this because I am going to be working on it at an actual class. I am taking this class at a local place, I don't know that much about it, but I am excited to try taking my first class there. They are really into vintage there, so I have a feeling it will be great match. There are lots of other great swimsuits I think are cute from websites, but they can cost so much, and rarely fit small enough for me. So, maybe sewing is the best option. Check out these:

All of these are the modern, vintage inspired versions of what I hope my swimsuit will look like. They are from http://www.modcloth.com/shop/swimwear. I love vintage swimwear because you didn't have to be skin and bones to wear it. It flattered every girl, and covered everything. I wish the styles would change and this kind of swimsuit would be popular again. In fact this summer, it has! Many trendy fashion stores such as Nordstroms and Anthropologie, have declared retro swimwear a trend for this summer.
I will be sure to post more about my swimsuit, when I start working on it. That's all for now!
